Scoring

Race Times
The 12 hour race will start at 8:00 AM and finish at 8:00 PM
The 6 hour race will start at 1:00 PM and finish at 7:00 PM
The 3 hour race will start at 3:00PM and finish at 6:00PM

The races will end precisely at the times listed above. If you do not think you will finish your last lap by that time, it is recommended that you do not start that lap. Any lap finished after the ending time will not count to your total. The placing of teams will be by the total laps finished by the ending time, and the finish time of the last lap completed. (Example: Team 1 completes 13 laps at 7:45PM Team 2 completes 13 laps at 7:57PM. Team 1 beats Team 2. But Team 3 completes 14 laps at 7:59PM, Team 3 is the winner.)

Awards

Awards will be presented as soon as possible after the results are finalized.

Series Scoring

The following system for awarding series points will be used this year. It will take into account placing and laps completed compared to the winning lap total.
The points will be based on the following formula;

Score=Points possible-(10-(Laps completed/Winning lap total)x10)
An example of the series scoring is available here

Competitors wishing to compete for an overall series score and overall awards, must fill out  series registration form and mail it with the $20 registration fee per rider to WEMS, or register at a race. A racer must have a series registration number for a result to count toward a series total in their series overall score. Points for series overalls will be figured retroactively for 1 race only. (Competitors must request retroactive credit and must write their race number from the race for which they are requesting retroactive credit, on their series registration form.)   By registering for a series registration number, solo riders that register with their series registration number will receive a $5 discount off of the entry fee for each race entered.

  Each team needs to have series registration numbers for each rider. The  series registration numbers for teams may be shared among team members listed on the roster. Duo teams consist of 2 riders, male or female, with a maximum team roster of 3 riders. Female teams consist of 2-4  riders, all female, with a maximum team roster of 5 riders. Open teams consist of 3-4 riders, male or female, with a maximum team roster of 6 riders. Teams registering with a series registration number will receive a $5 discount off of the entry fee per rider up to a maximum of $20 for a 4 person team.

To be eligible for an overall series award a team/solo rider must compete in a minimum of 5 events. The best 5 results will be used for tabulation of the final overall points. A team/solo rider that competes in more than the 5 events minimum, will be awarded 3 bonus points for each additional event (12 maximum). Series points toward an overall score will be scored as follows:

Volunteer Points

Each competitor may one time each year, give up their chance to race, and volunteer for an event of their choice to receive volunteer points. Competitors need to contact the race director of the event for which they wish to volunteer at least one week in advance, and commit to work a minimum of 6 hours. Competitors may work before for set-up, during or after the event. Volunteer points will be equal to the average of all the series scores for the competitor. Each Series racer may volunteer at one race per year. The volunteer points recieved will count the same as if the volunteer raced.
